Recognition of Indigenous Peoples’ Day Arcata, Ca 10/10/16

Hosted by Seventh Generation Fund, this was a gathering to recognize Indigenous People’s Day on Wiyot land. This was also in the midst of the conflict against the Standing Rock Sioux nation against the Dakota Access Pipeline. As a reminder that I’m a baby ndn journalist, that’s kind of personal. I’m Cheyenne River Sioux and a lot of family is over there. This was a gathering to show solidarity to Standing Rock as well as protest against the upcoming election.
